On World Cancer Day, we support the fighters, admire the survivors, honour the taken, and salute them for never, ever, giving up hope. And while I do that, I would like to begin by touching the foundation step of any healing, any treatment, any success in life- Motivation.

Master Motivation

Motivation is a powerful, yet tricky beast. Sometimes it is easy to get motivated, and you find yourself wrapped up in a whirlwind of excitement. Other times, it is nearly impossible to figure out how to motivate yourself and you’re trapped in a death spiral of procrastination. If you can master motivation, you can deal with life’s setbacks, as well as inspire yourself to always find a way forward, and create new experiences for yourself, and follow your growth.

Focus on The WHY & HOW

The best way to keep yourself motivated is by having a WHY, crystal clear in your mind. It sounds easier than to be done. Sometimes, Our WHY is so difficult to be found that it takes real strength to dig deeper and find one. Motivation becomes much easier, once the WHY has been met with. Those who get lucky with their WHY, need to work on the HOW. And when the How becomes clear, the journey becomes a lot more doable.

Keep yourself constantly motivated and driven towards the end goal. Surround yourself, only by those who believe in you and want you to achieve and keep you motivated. The support of your fellow people is a major factor in keeping you motivated.

With cancer so pervasive in our culture, I have found that people usually have one of two views. The first being those who believe that cancer is terminal upon diagnosis. Or you have the second, those who believe cancer to be curable because, after all, this is the 21st century.

Keep Trying to Fight

During the period when the kins of the patient, are told several times that they are out of options and nothing more could be done. It is at those times when we would begin to prepare for the worst. The fact that life is very uncertain already, dealing with cancer makes it even harsher. To pull yourselves together and keep trying to fight it, even while preparing for the best requires real strength. And that strength is sometimes much more difficult to gain, for the loved ones than for patient himself. When someone has cancer in the whole family, and everyone who loves them has it too.

Even on her hardest of days, I know just how lucky people feel that the person is there at all. To stay motivated and to keep the strength is the key and we can only imagine, the brave hearts that fight daily, they are stronger than most people. After all, The human spirit is greater than anything that can happen to it.
Let your faith be bigger than your fear!
