2018’s movie line up was packed with action movies. A lot of them were based on comic books. So if in case you’ve missed out on some or most of these movies, it’s time to catch up! Here’s a list of 8 Hollywood action flicks from last year that you should be watching asap! So bring out that six-pack (you know which one!), a bowl of popcorn and call it a boys’ night!
1. Avengers – Infinity War
You obviously know by now how big this movie was. The Avengers came together to stop Thanos and his army from acquiring all the infinity stones. Deemed as one of the best of 2018, it was the second biggest worldwide film opening! So come on guys, just watch it already! There’s also Avengers: Endgame waiting in line.
2. Creed II
Even if you have not seen the previous creed, you can jump right in and enjoy this movie. Under Rocky’s guidance, Adonis trains for the showdown of his life — a date with destiny that soon becomes his obsession Starring Sylvester Stallone (Rocky) and Micheal B Jordan (Adonis) this is probably one of the best films you’ll watch from last year!
3. Black Panther
After his father’s death, T’Challa returns home to Wakanda to inherit his throne. However, a powerful enemy related to his family threatens to attack his nation. This movie checks all of the boxes for a popcorn entertainer with some slick action sequences and a dramatic plot.
4. Rampage
Primatologist Davis Okoye teams up with a geneticist to prevent three giant mutated animals from destroying Chicago. This movie is everything you would expect a Dwayne Johnson film to be – an action-packed thrill ride! Which is why we think it’s perfect for a boys’ night.
5. Ant-Man and the Wasp
When Hope van Dyne and Dr Hank Pym reach out to him, Scott Lang once again has to don the Ant-Man suit and fight along with the Wasp. Ant-Man and the Wasp is a fun sequel to the hugely successful Ant-Man. Along with all the action, this one is a light-hearted and entertaining movie. So if you’re not in the mood for something too heavy, this one should be your pick!
6. Aquaman
With help from royal counsellor Vulko, Aquaman must retrieve the legendary Trident of Atlan and embrace his destiny as protector of the deep. Some insane action sequence combined with some comedy and a little bit of romance makes this film a visual delight!
7. Mission Impossible – Fallout
Along with his IMF team, Ethan Hunt sets out to stop the Apostles, who are a group of terrorists, from detonating three plutonium cores for a simultaneous nuclear attack in different cities. A perfect culmination of all the Mission Impossible films, Fallout is easily the best pure action film of 2018! It also marks the end of an era. Do you need any more reasons to watch it guys?
8. Deadpool 2
Deadpool joins forces with Bedlam, Shatterstar, Domino and other powerful mutants to protect young boy Russell from Cable and his advanced weaponry. Deadpool 2 has everything the first one had and more. So if you enjoyed the first one, this is what you should be watching like right effing now!
9. The Commuter
Michael, an insurance agent, is forced to take unusual decisions when he is targeted by a mysterious passenger during his way back home. You have to watch this movie simply because it’s got Liam Neeson in it. Also, because this might be his last action thriller as there’s news, he’s retiring from the genre due to his age.
