It’s Actually a Renovated Home

Apart from the gorgeous and stunning views, the homestay is being run by Rosie Cornwallis, an English lady who has been running the show for the past eight years. And we recently go in touch with her. She said, “I bought a ruined house on the lake in 2009 and spent two years renovating it for myself. The house is divided into two apartments- Lakeside and The Courtyard Apartment. Having an extra apartment gave me the idea to welcome travellers both from India wanting to explore their country and travellers from around the world”.
Udaipur is one of the most magnificent places in India that offers stunning backdrops. She added, “I had travelled to Udaipur many times and had made friends there so it was the obvious city for me to settle in”. So, that’s how Rosie’s Retreat Homestay came into being.

The two-storey homestay has a room on each floor. The Courtyard apartment is one the ground floor, on the other hand, the Lakeside apartment is one the first and second floor. The Lakeside apartment has its own spacious private roof terrace overlooking Pichola Lake and a fully equipped kitchen making it perfect. The Courtyard Apartment is an extremely spacious room with a drawing room area and a dressing area. It is equipped with a fridge toaster, kettle, and coffee maker.
The entire space’s interiors are an eclectic mix of antiques and vintage treasures picked up by Rosie’s travels around India. Each corner of the apartment is decorated with hand-carved jharokas and colourful plants. Giving you quaint vibes, aromatic flowers and vintage crafts are displayed giving you the perfect blend of the city. Food is not being served here but all the high end and amazing restaurants are just 2 minutes away from this place.
