Delhi, It’s Time to Gear Up For The Largest Theatre Festival in Asia- Bharat Rang Mahotsav

There’s no doubt about the fact that when it comes to art, culture and heritage, Delhi has tons to offer. Be it food, be it performing arts, be it heritage sites, and what not, the city always overshoots our expectations.

We’re sure most of you would be aware that our town is also home to the National School of Drama (NSD). So, of course, you can expect the best of theatre and drama culture from the city. And come 1st Feb, Delhi will witness NSD’s avant-garde ‘Bharat Rang Mahotsav‘, the International Theatre Festival of India, which will go on till the 21st Feb.

What’s it all about:

Well, this is the 20th Bharat Rang Mahotsav, which is also the largest theatre festival in Asia! You can expect creative plays & theatre performances, interactive sessions, and tons of other cultural events, bringing together all the theatre enthusiasts in the city.

What’s special this year:

There’s going to be a total of whopping 111 shows during the entire 21-day festival, out of which Delhi will host 89. Parallel festivals will be held in Dibrugarh, Varanasi, Ranchi, Mysore & Rajkot.

A glimpse of upcoming plays

This year will also see the celebration of the 150th birth anniversary of Mahatma Gandhi, wherein four of the plays will be staged based on his life and philosophies.

Other countries, such as Bangladesh, Poland, Russia, Sri Lanka, the Czech Republic, Italy, Nepal, Romania, and Singapore are participating this year, and will showcase their respective productions.
