1. Chaina Ram Sindhi Confectioners

Chaina Ram has been ruling our hearts with their speciality Karachi Halwa since decades. The shop, which was orginally in Lahore since 1901, relocated to Delhi after partition. Isn’t that some history! From Karachi halwa to pateesa, kaju burfi to sev badam and ghevar to the yummy besan ladoos, Chaina Ram will leave you spoilt for choice. The shop is definitely legendary, no wonder it is always packed with customers even in the wee hours!

2. Bengali Sweet House

Bengali Sweet House has been around in the city for 82 long years! It was first opened in Delhi’s Bengali Market in the year 1937. From barfis to halwas to khoya mithai, this place is one of our favourites for all the sweet cravings. And apart from mithai we recommend you try their Gol Gappas, in particular. This shop is a living testament to Delhi’s rich food heritage which cannot be missed!

3. Gulab

Gulab has been in the town since 1912 and their rewri & ghajaks are nationwide famous. Using pure desi ghee to create sweets, Gulab offers baalu shahi, jalebi and moong dal halwa to name a few. If you have a soft corner for coconut, their coconut laddoos are the best in the town. After indulging in all the sweets, on your way back do take their jaggery and peanuts chikki.

4. Kallan Sweets

Right outside the Gali Kababian in Old Delhi, you will find this amazing Kallan Sweets shop. It’s been withstanding the test of time since 1939! Kallan is the answer to the sweet cravings of the Purani Dilli peeps! Specializing in all kinds of Indian mithai, specifically barfi, this place will never leave you disappointed. You should gorge on their kalakand, pista barfi, dodha barfi, motichur, and besan ladoo and so much more!

5. Kamala Sweets

Opened in 1984, Kamala Sweets is by all the means one of the best Bengali sweet shops in Delhi. Their mithai are made totally in pure desi ghee and are absolutely delicious! They have a great variety of sandesh and their rosogollas is something which you just can’t skip as they are made from Nolen Gur. Also, do try their chamcham when making a pit stop here!

7. Old Famous Jalebi Wala

With a name which is self-explanatory, the famous Jalebiwala enjoys legendary status in Old Delhi. And why not? It’s been around since 1884 and has been in the family for four generations! Their big, orange, deish jalebis are perfect comfort food. Imagine taking a bite of hot jalebi dipped in hot milk, the crips surface breaks into your mouth and your taste lingers in your mouth even after hours of eating. Drool-worthy, right?
