Did you know recently, in July, Pink City Jaipur made an official entry in the list of the UNESCO World Heritage sites? Yes, it’s true. Jaipur becomes the 38th site in India to get the UNESCO World Heritage Status. And after Ahmedabad, it is now the second Indian city to earn this title. Be it the majestic forts and palaces of the city or the buzzing bazaars, the city has its own old-world charm. So, we got in touch with photographer Apoorv Shrivastava who shared some stunning pictures of Jaipur which prove that the pink city definitely deserves the title!
1. Hawa Mahal
In old Jaipur, Hawa Mahal is one of the major attractions that is always surrounded by locals and tourists. It is a perfect example of architectural symmetry. True to its name, Hawa Mahal has 953 windows to provide ventilation. The panoramic views and the shimmering city are a treat to the eyes for sure!Â
2. Amber Fort
Famous for its endearing mirror work, the Amber Fort is a treat to sore eyes. The red sandstone and marble stone construction reflects a blend of Hindu- Muslim architecture. This place is perfect for photography!
3. City Palace
The City Palace is a unique and arresting complex of several courtyards, buildings, pavilions, gardens, and temples. Diwan-E-Khas of City Palace is another perfect example of architectural symmetry.

Jaipur is surrounded by 9 gates and Patrika gate is the 9th Gate of Jaipur which was built by Rajasthan Patrika Group. Majestic, opulent series of gates at Jawahar circle’s entrance is popular amongst the photographers.
5. Jal Mahal
Located in the middle of Lake Man Sagar, Jal Mahal is one of the best places to visit. The architecture of the mahal is a fusion of Mughal and Rajput styles. Standing bright with five floors, four of which remain underwater, you should visit this place for sure!
6. Sunrise Point
Sunrise Point in Jaipur is very famous spot among tourists nowadays. It’s a 12 km long walled structure, which offers stunning views of the sunrise.
7. Jantar Mantar
Jantar Mantar is ranked amongst the largest observatory of the world. Built during the period of Maharaja Jai Singh II, it houses the largest sundial of the world. It tells a lot about how people in olden times used to calculate or estimated time. Isn’t it cool, right?
8. Albert Hall
Albert Hall is one of the most famous buildings designed by Sir Samuel Swinton Jacob. It’s a museum built on the basis of British architecture and is used to showcase the ancient art and weapons used by The Royals of Jaipur.
9. Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan
Gaitore Ki Chhatriyan is the royal crematorium grounds for the Kachwaha, a Rajput clan that ruled in the region. The royals’ cenotaphs are scattered throughout the complex, creating what looks like a mix of shrunken open-air palaces and ornate towers. The structures mark the spots where former leaders were cremated.
10. Galta Ji
Galta Ji is an ancient Hindu pilgrimage about 10 km away from Jaipur. This gorgeous temple is built out of pink rocks and is one of the best places to visit in Jaipur. Set near the Aravali, this temple has seven kunds which are regarded as reservoirs of holy water.
11. Nahargarh Fort
Last but not least is the breathtaking Nahargarh Fort! It is famous for giving the mesmerizing view of both old Jaipur and new Jaipur from the top. Also famous for the sunset and the different kind of stepwell it has, its the perfect place for photography.
