Delhiites, Before You Head to Vote, Get to Know These Netas Who Are Actually Well Educated

If you haven’t been living under a rock, you’d know that Loksabha elections are taking place in Delhi on the 12th of this May. A whopping 1.36 crore people will be heading to vote in the city. Most of you might have already made your mind. But here are some Netas you should know about, who are actually well educated.

1. Atishi Marlena From Aam Aadmi Party

Political activist and educator, Atishi Marlena is the member of the Political Affairs Committee in AAP. Atishi finished her schooling from Spring Dales School, New Delhi and went ahead to St. Stephen’s College to study history. Being the topper, Atishi continued her studies and went to Oxford University to complete her Master’s degree (2003) in History on a Chevening scholarship (an international scholarship scheme which enables students with leadership qualities to undertake postgraduate courses in universities in the UK). And then in 2005, to become a Rhodes Scholar (an international PG award for students to study at Oxford) she went to Magdalen College, Oxford.

2. Meenakshi Lekhi From Bharatiya Janata Party

The National spokesperson of BJP and a Supreme Court of India lawyer, Meenakshi Lekhi is standing for Lok Sabha constituency Delhi. She was appointed as the chairperson of the Committee on Privileges of the Lok Sabha in Parliament in 2016. She completed her B.Sc in Botany from Hindu College and then joined the Campus Law  Centre, DU, for LLB. Back in 1990, she got enrolled with the Bar Council of Delhi and started practising at Supreme Court of India, Delhi High Court and other courts. Many of you might not also know that Meenakshi even writes ‘Forthwrite’, for The Week Magazine (articles on social-political issues).

3. Deepti Nadella From Pyramid Party of India

Pyramid Party of India was founded in 1999 and for 17th Lok Sabha elections, Deepti Nadella is standing. Being a postgraduate in Business Administration (MBA) from Shobhit University she is the only woman from East Delhi who is fighting for the seat. The main motive of the party is to provide every citizen with free health care facilities. And yes, Deepti Nadella by profession teaches meditation. The party is encouraged to research and development in sectors like Holistic Health, Holistic Energy and Holistic Services.

4. Dr Harsh Vardhan From Bharatiya Janata Party

Science and Technology Minister of India, Dr. Harsh Vardhan, since years, has been representing Chandni Chowk. In the 17th Lok Sabha also he standing from the same area. Fondly called ‘Doctor Saabh’, he did his graduation in 1979 from Ganesh Shankar Vidyarthi Memorial Medical College, Kanpur in Bachelor of Medicine, Surgery degree. Later, in 1983, from the same college, he earned his Master of Surgery in Otorhinolaryngology. Being an ENT professional, for the country, Harsh Vardhan’s Polio Eradication Plan was quite a hit.

5. Aditi From Independent Party

A non- partisan or independent politician is an individual not affiliated to any political party. One such candidate is Aditi, who is standing in Lok Sabha elections 2019 from North West Delhi area. She is just 25 years old and giving us all the right reasons to follow her. Aditi is a graduate in science from the Government College For Women Rohtak, Maharshi Dayanand University. And yes guys, she is a social activist who is working to bring a change in society.

6. Sheila Dikshit From Indian National Congress

Longest serving Chief Minister of Delhi, Sheila Dikshit was appointed as president of Delhi Pradesh Congress Committee in 2019. Dikshit completed her schooling from Convent of Jesus and Mary, Delhi. She graduated with a Master of Arts degree in history from the Miranda House, University of Delhi. In 2013, she was awarded by All Ladies League for her Outstanding Public Service.
