Morris Garages (MG) Motors, a British automotive company, hosted an event for the launch of the Technology of their latest gen-next car- MG Hector, being touted as the Internet Car. The MG Hector will be launched in India later this year. However, Morris Garages Motors, along with their technology partners, hosted an event at the JW Marriott, Aerocity, which was all about the technology that we will experience in this futuristic SUV. But before we go ahead with the features, we have to tell you that the brand ambassador for this futuristic SUV is none other than Benedict Cumberbatch or rather Sherlock Holmes as most of you probably know him! Hasn’t that already got you excited to know what else is in store?
Loaded with a ton of super exciting features, some of the features that caught our attention are:
Head Unit
‘The Brain of the Car’ is a 10.4″ Head Unit, which is bigger than most of the tabs available in the market and is mounted vertically, because consumers are used to their vertical phone screen.
Voice Assist
The car will come with a cloud-enabled, artificial intelligence-based voice assistant. It can take over 100 voice commands to control the vehicle, such as open sunroof/window, climate control, radio control etc.
Over the Air Updates
Morris Garages India has also introduced OTA features in India which will make sure that the MG car gets updated as soon as a new update is available.
TomTom is Launched in India
MG Motors has also partnered with TomTom, the global leaders in automotive navigation for maps and navigation. TomTom has become a popular option for navigation because it always provides up to date maps and real-time traffic data and also offers IQMaps which plans routes analysing all possible routes and then picks the one that takes the least amount of time.
Safety and Security with E-Call
They also have a supremely progressive and beneficial safety and security feature. All Morris Garages Hectors would come with the E-Call feature, which is an instant emergency response system. In case there is a situation where the airbags are deployed, E-Call will immediately send a message with your location to a response team. The Pulse Hub, which is MG’s customer centre, will respond quickly, and they will reach the vehicle’s current location if they get no answer from the owner or emergency contact.
iSmart Mobile App
The best part is that every MG Hector owner would also get a downloadable iSmart App for their mobile, which, when fired up scans the car and presents information such as the location and whether the vehicle is locked or not. Using the app, the owner can also lock/unlock the vehicle remotely, switch on the temperature control or roll down the windows of the car remotely, on a hot day when the car has been standing in the sun, create a travel plan and send it to the vehicle and much more.
Not only that, but Morris Garages has also partnered with Gaana. The car would be loaded with the Gaana App and a Premium Account with ad-free music and download capability.
