1. Hornbill Festival
One of the biggest music festivals in the country, the Hornbill Music Festival takes place in the capital city of Nagaland – Kohima. Held in December every year, this festival is an initiative by the Government of Nagaland to display the talent of the diverse multi-ethnic Naga tribes to the world. Seven melodic days of fun with musicians from different parts of the county- you absolutely have to attend this festival with your squad!

2. Magnetic Fields Festival
Set in the majestic Alsisar Mahal in Shekhawati, Rajasthan, that in itself is one of the major reasons to attend this one! A three-day music festival, it aims to promote the freshest sound from the country alongside some of the world’s finest underground musicians. Spend three days lazying on the lawns, hunting for buried treasure, attending secret parties, dancing on the rooftop, flying kites at sunrise and watching the desert come to life in a dazzling haze of mist and sunlight!

3. Ziro Festival
Ths festival aiming to encourage fellowship among the musicians of Northeast India, ever since its launch in 2012 the festival has served as a platform for artists to meet other artists. What’s especially attractive about this festival is that it takes place at 5,500 ft in Ziro Valley. If you’re one of those who enjoy the setting of beautiful mountains and pine trees along with some great music, you absolutely have to attend this three-day festival!

4. Jodhpur Riff
Folk music lovers, this one certainly deserves your attention! Taking place at the glorious Mehrangarh Fort in Jodhpur, this international folk music festival displays the traditional folk music and arts of Rajasthan. The festival is organised at the time of Sharad Purnima, the brightest full moon of the year with the sole purpose of familiarising the world with the traditional Rajasthani musical heritage.

5. Shiva Squad Festival
A three-day festival of adventure, music, healing and culture, the Shiva Squad Fest showcases the finest artists from various genres. 6. GoMAD Fest

8. The Great Indian October Fest
The great Indian October Fest is produced along similar lines of internationally renowned German Oktoberfest which takes place in Munich.
